Frequently Asked Questions

Dosages are relatively complex.  There are several factors to consider when finding a starting dose including body weight, the severity of your condition, your tolerance, and the concentration of the product.  For more information, consult our dosage guide.  As with all guidance of this type, your personal physician is your best bet.  Follow instructions from your physician.

Yes.  Visit the ‘Certificates‘ page or hover over (or tap) the ‘About Us’ menu item and look for “Certificates.”  We maintain historical certificates but publish only the certificates which apply to the current lot.

At present, we do not.  There are many reasons for this, not the least of which is bioavailability.  VG/PG have their own issues.  Propylene glycol, for instance, is one of the biggest allergens according to the American Contact Dermatitis Society.  It was named ‘Allergen Of The Year’ last year.  Things are looking good for a repeat this year. PG is also a water attractant and CBD (as well as other cannabinoids) are fat soluble.  This presents an issue as far as suspension.  There is a chemical process required to cause the molecules to stay in suspension which we would rather avoid if possible.  Without that process, the CBD would settle out and the last half of the cartridge would just be PG.

Vegetable glycerine is problematic in that it is also (but to a much lesser extent) an allergen.  It can also cause irregular heartbeats, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea in some (rare) cases.  While it’s a step between a fat and a water attractant, the same suspension issue still exists.

MCT, on the other hand, is among the easiest fats for the human body to assimilate and it does not cause lipid pneumonia.  There are a fair number of FDA Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) carriers, but MCT is the most effective.  It’s even more effective as a delivery mechanism than winterized oils or what other manufacturers call, ‘full spectrum.’  Those consist of the oils, esters, flavonoids, terpenes, and alkaloids of the entire hemp plant.  The issue with them is, the plant’s oil is less bioavailable than MCT.

We don’t have plans to offer a VG/PG option at this time for the above-stated reasons but that may change if there is significant customer demand.  Bioavailability is the key because, without it, too much of the product goes unabsorbed.

We prefer to sell via the website due to the fact that we are not currently set up for retail sales.  We do realize that some people live within driving/ errand-running distance and may prefer to purchase locally.  If that is the case, please notify us via email (info@cbdand.co) and we can arrange a pickup time in advance.

Short answer, no.  Longer and more technical answer: The only cannabinoids that show up on drug screenings are in the THC family (11-nor-9-carboxy-delta-9-THC is the major one, also known as carboxy THC).  There is no carboxy THC in our formulas because our products are hemp derived.  Hemp is not marijuana.

Short answer, no.  Longer and more technical answer: CBD is a non-psychoactive compound which acts with your body’s endocannabinoid system to regulate autonomic functions.  That’s fancy talk for, it won’t make you feel differently than you do now with the exception of pain mitigation, stress management, and overall improved health markers.
